BC longboards are hand crafted in a 4,600sq. ft. warehouse in the heart of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From the design of the graphic to the pressing; and all the way through to the finish, it’s all done in house. HYBRID V-LAM CORE - A vertically laminated core mixed with layers of horizontal grain. By mixing the lamination direction, we are able to control various aspects of the ride characteristics. Bamboo has great memory retention and this allows us to load the board with energy.
CONCAVE – Using special techniques, we are able to achieve a deeper concave than most other bamboo boards on the market. Our concave allows you to gain maximum control of your board. When your board gets sideways, you’ll be glad it’s there!
CAMBER - Achieving the perfect blend of camber is cruicial to the performance of the bamboo. Too litte and you’ll find yourself dragging around town. Too much and you’ll feel as though your preparing for launch into the stratosphere. However, when you find the perfect blend, its like floating on the clouds!
MOUNTING PLATES - BCL has developed a mounting system to ensure strength, responsiveness, and dependability out of our drop thru models. An aluminum plate backed with neoprene outlines the drop thru to provide unmatched performance. The plates distribute your weight evenly throughout the trucks protecting the bolt holes while absorbing road vibrations. Refer back to floating on the clouds!
FLEX – Fat free & Boss! If you’re 75lbs to 240lbs, BC has a flex for you. We have exhausted many resources in obtaining the ulitmate formula for success. A flex that’s not too stiff, yet not flexy. One that pumps when you’re carving, yet holds steady when you tuck it downhill. The fat free flex is suitable for riders up to 160lbs. The boss flex is for riders in the range of 140lbs to 240lbs.
GRAPHIC - It’s our specialty! We use a sublimation process that leaves you with graphic that will last a lifetime. We offer custom designs on both the top and bottom of the board. If you’re going to ride, ride with your own sense of style!
MATERIALS
BAMBOO - Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on Earth; it can reach a maximal growth rate exceeding one meter per hour for short periods of time. Bamboo is significantly stronger than maple and has a greater strength-to-weight ratio. The pressure to indent is 1639 lbs. versus 1450 lbs. in hard maple. Due to the bamboo fibers being small and tightly pressed, they have intense memory and return. These qualities help give BC Longboards that lively, responsive ride.
FIBERGLASS - A material made from extremely fine fibers of glass, it is used as a reinforcing agent for many products. Glass fibers are useful because of their high ratio of surface area to weight. BCL uses fiberglass to reinforce the natural qualities of the bamboo. It allows us to fine tune the flex and ride characteristics of our boards.
ALUMINIUM - Aluminium is a durable, lightweight, malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull grey, depending on the surface roughness. It is ductile, and easily machined, cast, drawn, and extruded. BCL uses aluminium plates as a reinforcement in its drop thru models. These plates stregthen the drop thru cut outs, as well as the bolt holes, for unparalleled performance, quality, and durability. Aluminium is 100% recyclable without any loss of its natural qualities.
